This year we are establishing an annual game tradition that celebrates and recognizes the service of our Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families as well as raise money for non-profit agencies that provide vital services and programs that support all affected veterans and their families. Representatives from one such agency will be attending the game.  The week of the football game with Pflugerville Weiss has been designated Military Appreciation Week.

As part of our recognition of Military veterans and their families, East View Football and Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) asks for your support as we raise funds for the Samaritan Center of Austin.  The Samaritan Center has been saving lives, healing emotional wounds and giving hope to individuals and families for over 40 years. Veterans, Service Members, and their Families have a unique journey on the path to wellness. The Samaritan Center offers evidence-based trauma treatment approaches including Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing Therapy - EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Moral Injury approaches. They understand that the whole family serves and offers a wide range of therapy for children, adolescents, spouses and family members. All of the proceeds from the Military Appreciation Week Events will be donated to support programs for Veterans and their Families at  the Samaritan Center.

One of the events of Military week is a U.S. Flag display in the front of East View High School with one flag for each of the  617 Texas Veterans that have died in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations while fighting the global war on Terrorism. Please help us honor those men and women with your support through the purchase of as many flags as you desire for $2.00 each. To see the names and home towns of the 617 click here.
